Marching Band is an ensemble that incorporates the musical as well as the visual aspect of performance. The winds, drum line, pit, and color guard create the atmosphere for the theme or concept of the marching show. The band travels to festivals to compete with surrounding bands and obtain critiques from quality judging.

 

Marching Band begins with two weeks of band camp in late July. When school starts, morning practices begin at 6:30 every morning. Night rehearsals will be held on Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 8:30, which allow us to practice on the football field. Sectional rehearsals will be once a week after school.

 

The Marching Band performs at all home football games and is a "for credit" class. Fourth year Marching Band may be taken as an AP class with approval of the director.
